Subscription Update Obituary

     Laura A. (Lopriore) Colombo, 89 of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 8, 2018 with her daughter by her side.
     Laura was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Italian immigrants Pietro and Giovanna “Annie” (Tantimonaco) Lopriore. Raised here, she graduated from Commerce High School. Laura met the Love of her Life, Federico A. Colombo were married on November 13, 1948 and had a family together for 63 years before his passing in 2011. Laura was the co-owner of Joe’s Market in West Brookfield for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the churches Golden Years Club. Laura was also a drum majorette for the former Sons of Italy Drum Corps and the past president of the Colony Apartments and Residents Association.
     Laura was sweet, kind and loving. Family and friends were of the utmost importance to her life. Laura had an infectious smile, loved people and loved to laugh, tell jokes and makes others laugh. She also was the life of any party, loved to dance with her husband, cooking, crafts, coloring, word searches and watching family feud. She will be truly missed by anyone she touched. Her sweet soul will live on by her family through sharing her stories.
      Laura is survived by her daughter, Joanne M. Colombo of Worcester; her son, Stephen A. Colombo and his wife Debra of California; two grandsons, Anthony A. Colombo of California and Brian Britt of Londonderry, NH; her sister-in-law, Rose Porcaro of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband who she always missed and her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Michael Lopriore; five sisters, Mary Naugler, Antoinette Naugler, Rose Milluzzo, Rita Yockel and Raffaela DeMarco.
     Friends and family are invited to attend Laura’s funeral service on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 10 am in the MERCADANTE FUENRAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 13th from 4-7 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9-10 am in the funeral home. Flowers are omitted.
