Subscription Update Obituary

Larry J. Davenport, 73, of Sandwich and formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully in Cape Cod Hospital on Thursday, January 11, 2024 after an illness.

Larry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deborah Deso-Davenport; his three sons, Seth Deso Davenport of Worcester, Larry Davenport Jr. of Lowell and Eric Davenport of Townsend, MA; two daughters, Alecia Gessner of East sandwich, MA and Cecelia Gaskin of Virginia; two brothers, Herman Davenport of Newtown, CT and Rev. Carlos Davenport of Worcester; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was born in North Wilkesboro, NC son of the late Herman L. and Mary (Graham) Davenport. He graduated from Assumption College with a. bachelor’s degree and then continued his education at Anna Maria College where he attained a master’s degree.

Larry worked for over 26 years as a social worker for Spectrum Health Services before he retired.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:30 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
