Laraine P. Lovely-Kingsbury, 71, of Worcester passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Her beloved husband William H. Kingsbury passed away in 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Amanda L. Kingsbury and LeighAnn C. Kingsbury; one brother, Michael H. Lovely; three sisters, her twin and best friend Lucille L. Biernacki and her husband Brian, Sheila J. Bailey, and Sherrie L. Tarquinio and her husband Franco; two granddaughters, Olive and Meadow; and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Laraine was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Vincent M. Lovely, Sr. and Gloria C. (Trombly) Lovely. She was also predeceased by five brothers, Vincent M. Lovely Jr., William P. Lovely Sr., Steven G. Lovely, and twins, Ronald P. Lovely and Robert P. Lovely; and one sister, Kathleen G. Bartlett, who passed away February 12, 2024.

Laraine was a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at the former Hahnemann Hospital and at the VNA. In her younger years, Laraine’s love of travel brought her to Florida, Germany, Bermuda, and several trips to the Bahamas. The ocean was one of her favorite spots, where she would spend as much time as she could on the beaches of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

One of Laraine’s greatest passions was shopping. She spent hours shopping for and selecting the perfect gifts for everyone, always remembering each birthday and every Christmas and other holidays on the calendar. She will be remembered as a selfless giver, offering daily prayers for each of her loved ones. Laraine’s Catholic faith was first and foremost in her life. She attended Mass and received the Eucharist as often as possible and watched Mass each day on TV when her health declined.

Known as ‘Gram’ to her cherished granddaughters Olive and Meadow, Laraine’s most treasured times were those shared with them, whether as a special sleepover, cooking, baking or playing games. They provided her with an enormous source of love and happiness.

Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church on Wednesday. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
