Karyn A. (George) Liberty, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, Karyn was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Bacon) George. A proud graduate of Shrewsbury High School, Class of 1964, she carried the values and friendships of her upbringing throughout her life.

In 1966, Karyn married the love of her life, Leslie W. Liberty, and together they built a beautiful life in Shrewsbury, raising their family with love and dedication. For more than 25 years, she served as an executive secretary at the former Glavin Regional Center, where her professionalism and warm demeanor left a lasting impression.

Karyn found immense joy in life’s simple, yet profound, beauties. She delighted in the splendor of Monarch butterflies, the bright blooms of daffodils, and the elegance of roses. A skilled pitch player and a spirited participant in Marjon games, she cherished the camaraderie of her friends. Above all, Karyn’s greatest happiness came from time spent with her beloved family, who were the center of her world.

Karyn will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of 58 years, Leslie W. Liberty; her sons, Paul Liberty and his wife, Eileen, of Pascoag, RI, and John Liberty and his wife, Michelle, of Shrewsbury; her daughter, Kristie Ruksnaitis and her husband, Christopher, of Paxton; her brother, Jay George and his wife, Nancy, of Worcester; her sister, Sue Colangelo and her husband, Julio, of Land O’ Lakes, FL; her eight adored grandchildren; and four treasured great-grandchildren.

Private funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Memorial contributions in Karyn’s honor may be directed to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Attn: Donor Services, P.O. box 97372, Washington D.C. 20090-7372,
