Subscription Update Obituary

Joseph T. Jalbert, Sr., 85, of Muggett Hill Rd., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12th, at the Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a brief illness.

His loved wife of 53 years, Cecelia M. (Troy) Jalbert died in 2014. He leaves his two sons, Joseph T. Jalbert, Jr. and his wife Maura of Barre and David J. Jalbert and his wife Melissa of Charlton; a daughters, Nina M. Arsenault of Southbridge; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Joseph was predeceased by his brother, James E. Jalbert.

He was born in Worcester the son of Joseph D. and Sarah E. (Brown) Jalbert. Joseph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps following graduation and served honorably during Vietnam. He worked for Norton in Worcester in their Power House for several years prior to retiring. Joseph also worked for the past 25 years at Old Sturbridge Village retiring just last year. He and his wife, Cecelia had a passion for travel, you could often find them in Old Orchard beach Maine where they vacationed for many years. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford and participated in the choir.

A graveside service with military honors for Joseph will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16th at 2:00 PM in the Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton. There are no calling hours.

The family has respectfully requested that all who attend the service to please were face masks.

Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge is directing the arrangements.
