Joseph M. Vecchio, 48, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2022.

Joey is survived by his mother, Francesca (Ventura) Sabo and her husband Carl of Franklin, TN; his father, Joseph P. Vecchio and his wife Elizabeth of Worcester; a sister, Lisa Boucher and her husband Jon of Oakham; a step-brother, Chris Sabo and his wife Katie of Ashville, NC; a step-sister, Elise Palmieri and her partner Dan Elwood of Los Angeles, CA; a niece, Kaeliana Boucher; four nephews, Joshua and Zachary Boucher, Oscar and Calvin Sabo; an aunt, Patricia Dunlap of West Boylston; two uncles, Ronald Vecchio and his partner Laura Andrews of Holden and Gary Vecchio of Worcester. He was pre-deceased by an aunt, Mary Chiapulis. Joey was born in Worcester and grew up in Shrewsbury. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Worcester State University.

Joey worked as a mortgage processor for the past ten years with Wells Fargo, but his true passion was music. Joey was a drummer and his music career spanned over two decades. He played several years for Carnival Cruise Lines, he played in local bands, and his entrepreneurial spirit drove him to establish music and promotional websites. He enjoyed golfing, fitness, nutrition, and spending time with family. Joey will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Joey’s memory to VETERANS Inc. at veteransinc.org or Second Chance Animal Shelter at secondchanceanimals.org/tributes/
