Jose Antonio Ortiz Sr., 76, of Worcester MA, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Mr. Ortiz was predeceased by his wife, Debra Burbo who passed away in 2018. He is survived by siblings, Mariano Ortiz and Elena Ortiz; his children, Maria Del Carmen Ortiz-Rodriguez, Evelyn Ortiz, Jose Antonio Ortiz, Jr., Mary Linda Ortiz Rodriguez, Joseph Burbo, Ruth Burbo and Yvonne Ortiz Guerrero; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many others. One of six children, he was the son of Amadeo Ortiz and Petra Ocasio.

Mr. Ortiz was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1961. Jose worked at Norton Company for 20 plus years then took up part time work at CAP where he worked until recently. He loved to spend time with family, loved to sing and was a jokester. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and loved watching Animal Planet and History channels. He is loved and will be deeply missed by many who knew him.

Due to Restrictions related to COVID-19, services are private. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
