Mr. John J. Adamonis, 79, passed away Monday April 22nd, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
John is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Marie (Belculfine) Adamonis of Worcester; two sons, John Adamonis III and his wife Debi of Worcester, Joseph Adamonis and wife Nancy of Spencer; a daughter, Susan Rousseau and her husband Randy of Leicester; a sister, Anna Polenski and her husband Theodore of Auburn; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashley Adamonis; and his beloved cat, Shyann; also many nieces and nephews.
John was pre-deceased by his brother, William Adamonis and a sister, Priscilla Mitchell.
He was the son of the late John J Adamonis Sr. and Anna (Valenski) Adamonis.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, John was educated through the Worcester schools. He served his country in the Army as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for over forty years driving a truck for Chicago Dressed Beef and Cowan’s and Sons of Worcester. John had worked most recently at UMass Medical Center up until his retirement.
John was a parishioner of St Stephen’s Church, and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 30th at St Stephen’s Church, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604 from 9:30 a.m to 10:00 a.m. His funeral Mass will immediately follow in the church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donations may be made in his memory to St Stephen’s Building Renovation Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604 or to the Jewish Health Care Hospice, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
