     Jean A. (Layfulde) Meehan-Brigida, 88, of Mendon, MA and Florida, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. Her husband, Victor E. Brigida, predeceased her in January 2009; and her first husband and father of her children, Daniel E. Meehan, predeceased her in December 2000.Jean is survived by her loving children, Daniel G. Meehan with whom she lived, Kevin P. Meehan and his wife Patricia of Millis, Marcia M. Flynn, and Terrence M. Meehan, both of Worcester; a brother, Milton E. Carrstedt and his wife Diana of Delray Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul J. Layfulde. Jean’s family wants to acknowledge her cousin, Nancy Liolios for her continued friendship, care and guidance for Jean over the years.Jean was born in Worcester graduating from Girl’s Trade High School; for several years, she worked at David Clark Company in Worcester. She later married and dedicated herself to raising her family in Shrewsbury, where they were showered with continued love. She later moved to Mendon, while also enjoying her home in Florida.Jean was first-class and enjoyed her family and her many friends. She enjoyed being charitable to many causes and loved the glitz and bling of many casinos. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.Her family would also like to thank the exceptional staff of “angels” at Countryside Rehab in Milford; their compassionate care to Jean and her family, will long be remembered.Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Friday, morning, March 15, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
