Jason Edward Tonelli, age 36, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at U-Mass Medical Center in Worcester after a very short, courageous battle with aggressive Melanoma Cancer.
Born in Hartford, Ct, he was the son of Linda A. (Mitcham) Tonelli of Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Joseph A. Tonelli of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jason was raised in Thompson, Connecticut where he was a graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School. He most recently lived in Pomfret, CT and worked at Sherwood’s Restaurant and Bar.
Jason traveled the world extensively including Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Egypt and the Orient and made many friends along the way. Having a vast knowledge and love of wines, he obtained his wine certification at DisneyWorld in Orlando. He loved dogs and worked at pet rescue and doggie daycare centers in CT. He had a special bond with nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors, listening to music, seeing movies & foreign films and writing poetry. He cherished the time shared with his family and dogs, Kona and DNa aka Sandwiches.
Jason leaves behind his mother, Linda A. (Mitcham) Tonelli of Dartmouth; his father, Joseph A. Tonelli and his wife Lena of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother, Brian E. Tonelli and his wife Dana of Norwalk, CT; his aunt, Linda J. Tonelli of Myrtle Beach, SC; his niece, Maclyn Avery Tonelli of Norwalk, CT; and many close friends and relatives
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4:00pm- 7:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 6:30pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jason’s memory may be made to Looney Legacy Foundation, PO Box 284, East Freetown, Mass 02717 of which 100% of proceeds support Melanoma Cancer Research.
