James “Jim” M. Weaver, Jr., 91 passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6th after a period of declining health. Born in Montgomery Alabama, Jim was the son of James Milford and Anna Louise (Clay) Weaver.
Jim graduated from Beverly High School in Massachusetts where he lettered in football. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS WASP CV-18. He was married for fifty-six years to his wife Elizabeth and had five children. They moved to Millbury in 1969 when he was promoted by Burroughs Corporation as the East Coast Field Engineering Manager where he worked for thirty-seven years before he retired. Jim had many hobbies he enjoyed including hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. You would usually see his camper attached to his vehicle most days as he set off on new adventures. Among his many accomplishments in life, he was extremely proud of his 52-year friendship with Bill W., recently celebrating that milestone in January.

Jim is survived by four of his children; Karen Walsh of Paxton, Kathleen Martinello and her husband Anthony of Sutton, Daniel Weaver and his partner Jill Edelman of Woburn, and Brian Weaver and his wife Linda of Oxford; his nine grandchildren; Sean Walsh and his wife Danielle, Erin Esposito and her husband Michael, Brendan Walsh, Andrew Martinello and his wife Kim, David Martinello and his husband Raul, Ryan Weaver and his wife Chelsea, Lauryn Doyle and her husband Patrick, Devin Weaver, and Brilee Weaver as well as ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves a sister, Marie Lotito, of Rowley. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, his son James, and his brothers Robert and David Weaver as well as so many friends that he considered family.

Jim’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Brookdale Eddy Pond East for their efforts in assisted living, also the ICU and cardiac care unit at UMass and the staff at Beaumont in Westborough for all the compassionate care Jim received.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jim’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, March 10th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 11th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road in Sutton. Burial will be private.
