Jacqueline R. Trychon, age 82, died peacefully with her family on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 in Umass Medical Center Hospital after a sudden, unexpected illness.
Jacqueline, who was known to her friends and family as “Jaki”, was born on August 2nd,1941 in Worcester to Lucienne and Arthur Leroux. She graduated from Holy Name High School in the class of ‘59 and attended Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. She was an inspiration to all in her classes as her teachers noted that she was destined to make a difference in this world.
A jaki-of-all-trades, she worked as a medical secretary for Dr Yusuna and as a service writer for Harr Ford. Jaki worked at Allegro, was a certified nurse’s assistant, licensed barber, phlebotomist, and the founder and president of her own cleaning company “A Woman’s Touch”. She served her church, family, and community until the day she departed this life. Jaki was a positive influence on all and a spark that could not be extinguished.
Jaki was the cherished matriarch of her family, elder sister to Alice (Harry) Mellor, and Susanne (Tom) Finney, mother to 4, a grandmother to 10, and great grandmother to 7. She loved Roscoe Harmon, her partner in life for the last 37 years. They explored the entire country, visiting 47 states in their RV, marking a life filled with travel, adventure, and joy.
Jaki’s love and inspiration extended to her four children who all served in the US Air Force: former Capt Aline Trychon, MSgt Stephen (Bethann) Trychon, Col (R) Eric (Tammy) Trychon, and MSgt (R) David (Barbara) Trychon. They remember her as a great mom, generous, caring, and very active in their military and civilian lives. Her 10 grandchildren, James, Scott, Cassie, Kaylin, Paige, Stephen, Mary, Matthew, Jeffrey, Nazaria and 7 great grandchildren will carry on her legacy of kindness and joy.
Jaki was a passionate flower gardener, master of spider solitaire, and avid sports fan for 3 generations of children. She loved to travel, visiting her extended family over the world, last visiting her cherished Paris in 2022. She truly left her fingerprints on all the lives she touched. She will not be forgotten.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Jaki’s life with visitation Friday, June 28th, 2024 from 10:00am until 10:45am at St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester. A funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
