Subscription Update Obituary

Igor Ugrinow, 95, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021 at Quaboag Nursing Home, West Brookfield, MA.

Igor’s wife Patricia Ugrinow predeceased him in 2012 they were married for 69 years, on Jan. 26, 1952. He leaves behind his 6 children, son Nikolai Ugrinow and his wife Stephany of Maynard, daughter Anna Roy and her husband Dennis of Leicester, son Paul Ugrinow and his wife Lourdes of Charlton, daughter Nancy Ugrinow of West Brookfield, son Andrew Ugrinow and his husband Chuck Democko of Coventry RI, and daughter Valentina Chevalier and her husband Richard of Worcester. He was a proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Born in Belgrade Yugoslavia, Igor was the son of Nikolai and Elizabeth Antipov Ugrinow, he was one of five siblings. He came to the United States from Great Britain in 1954 and settled in Spencer, MA.

Igor worked at Pratt Whitney in Connecticut where he worked for 30 years retiring in 1989. He also worked part-time at Shaws Supermarket in Sturbridge for 16 years. Igor was a member of Hayloft Steppers Square Dance Club Sturbridge, MA, he enjoyed camping, his swimming pool, delivering Meals on Wheels for the elderly and was always the life of the party.

A private burial service for the family will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
