Subscription Update Obituary

     Helen K. (Pianowski) McLaughlin, 90, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Saint Vincent Hospital.  Her loving husband of fifty-eight years, George E. McLaughlin, Jr., who lovingly called her “Doll”, predeceased her in 2006.

Helen is survived by two sons, Kevin R. McLaughlin and his wife Sharon of Indialantic, FL, and Neil P. McLaughlin of Worcester; two daughters, Elaine M. Rochefort and her husband Dennis, and Nancy E. Bianchini and her husband Alan, all of Worcester; a sister, Ann Finne of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Beth Krow, Matthew Rochefort, Ryan and ConoMcLaughlin, Brian and Alec LaRange, Keri and Keith Bianchini; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Brian P. McLaughlin, a grandson, Dennis Rochefort Jr., Stanley and Katheryn Zavistoski, who were second parents to her; She was also predeceased by three brothers, Joseph & Moniec Pianowski, Stanley Zavistoski, and four sisters, Stephanie Hunt, Josephine Card, Gladys LaPlante, and Catherine Occhialini.  Helen was born in Hope Valley, Rhode Island, daughter of the late, Vladislaw and Alexandra (Bandzul) Pianowski, and has lived most of her life in Worcester.

Helen was a nurses aide for over 30 years, including 20+ years at Holden Hospital. She was a member of Saint Christopher Church.  She worshipped her family and enjoyed all the special moments in life with them.  She was a wonderful cook, talented crocheter, and had a “green thumb” when it came to her flower gardens.  She loved playing bingo, and taking trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City.

Calling Hours and Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 22, in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; with Calling Hours from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., when her Funeral Service begins.  Interment beside her husband will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  Those who wish to remember Helen by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider Veterans Inc, 69 Grove Street, Worcester MA 01605.
