Dunedin, FL – Harold J. McKay, Jr., formerly of Northbridge, Mass., passed away peacefully on June 30th at Suncoast Hospice House in FL as loving family held his hands. He bravely fought a 2 year battle against a rare terminal cancer.

He was the son of the late Ann and Harold McKay, Sr. of Northbridge. He was survived by his wife, Marilyn (always Beba to him) and his 4 daughters, Sharon Emond, Pamela and her husband Dale Dochterman, Tammy and her husband Bill Kurtz, Michelle and her husband Tom Lussier, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Harry was a Worcester Firefighter from 1968 until he retired in 2001. He met many of his life long friends there.

He enjoyed golfing, shuffleboard and fishing with his family and friends. He was always game for anything and always fun to be around. We will always remember hearing him say “yes dear” and “whatever”. He loved the “Cape”, where he was a member of the Worcester Surfcasting Club. Harry and “Beba” spent the last 45 summers there, until this summer, when he became too sick to travel back from his winter place in Dunedin Florida, which he also considered home. He loved spending the winters at Golden Acres with his many friends.

A memorial service for family and friends will be announced at a later date and held at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood Street, Worcester, MA 01607.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be made to; Emanuel Lutheran Church at the above address or Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater FL 33760
