Subscription Update Obituary

     Gloria M. (Swartz) Riley, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Fontaine E. Riley, predeceased her in 1998 and her daughter, Laura Riley of Worcester and by twin siblings Gerald Swartz and Geraldine Meisenheimer.

She leaves her children Myrna Varteresian and her husband Eddie Varteresian of Worcester, daughter Rev. Joyce Gambon of Roanoke, Virginia as well as three sons: Mark Riley of Bakersville, North Carolina, Matthew Riley and his wife Patricia Riley of Tariffville, Connecticut and Stephen Riley and his wife Kimberly Riley of Northborough. Gloria also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Gloria was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, daughter of the late Fredric and Freida (Daly) Swartz. She graduated from Clinton High School and worked as a clerk for the MA Department of Revenue and as a customer service representative for Staples. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her pets and animals.

All services will be private. Burial will be at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
