Gertrude Ruth (Cody) Warren, age 85, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, September 20 in Worcester. She was born and raised in Putnam, CT. She was one of five children born to the late Ina Aldrich and John Cody and was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Warren. Gertrude will forever be remembered as a sweet, gentle, kind and generous woman by her family, and her letters will be forever cherished. She is survived by her son Gary Warren and his wife, Anne, of Worcester; two grandchildren, Cybill Warren Reese and her husband, Sean, of Worcester, and Aric Warren and his wife, Jennifer, of Winthrop; and a great grandson, William Reese, who was the joy of her life. Gertrude leaves a brother, John Cody of Thompson, CT. Gertrude enjoyed spending time with her family, the beach, reading, cookouts, shopping downtown, fashion, kittens, crafts, bingo and loved listening to country music. The family would like to thank her friends at the Lutheran Home for their kindness over the years and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their compassion. Services and burial are private. Memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Home Activity Fund. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605 is directing arrangements.
