Subscription Update Obituary

   Gerard Levasseur, 81, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Worcester, died on Monday January 19th in the East Bay Nursing Center after an illness.

   His wife, Irene B. (Thibeault) Levasseur, died in 1995. He is survived by three sons, Raymond E. of Worcester, Edward L. of Clearwater, FL, and Gerard V. Levasseur, Jr. of Beverly Hills, FL; four daughters, Claire M. Murphy of Worcester, Diane L. Zapasnik of Barre, Mary E. Levasseur of Largo, FL, and Christine A. Pellerin of Jefferson; three brothers, Philip V. of Stuart, FL, Eugene J. of Worcester, and Paul "Al" of Worcester; a sister, Jeannette M. Jefferson of Hobes Sound, FL; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Levasseur was born in Rumford, Maine son of the late Roland and Anna (Bourgea) Levasseur and is predeceased by a daughter, Marie A. Levasseur who died in 1998 and two brothers, Roland and Raymond.

   Gerard is a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a machine operator at the former Crompton and Knowles Company until his retirement.

   The funeral will be held on Friday, January 23rd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10 AM at Saint John's Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 22nd from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham 01701.
