Subscription Update Obituary

     Gerald M. Roche, Sr., 84, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He leaves a daughter Kathleen A.(Roche) Goodwin of Dudley; a son Gerald M. Roche Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Holden; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Roche also leaves brothers; John W. Roche of Nashua NH, Richard M. Roche of North Fort Myers Florida, John B. Hamel of Port St. Lucie Florida, 2 sisters; Nancy (Hamel) Messina of Charlton and Jill (Hamel) Chaplis of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years- Joan L. (Fyrberg) Roche and by a brother Robert Roche.

Gerald was born in Worcester, son of the late Maurice and Mildred (Wynne) Roche. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked for 35 years as a Field Service Technician for the Jamesbury Corporation in Worcester. He traveled extensively for his job; contributing his expertise worldwide. Mr. Roche was an avid golfer, a car enthusiast, photographer, loved watching sports and going to the beach. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather; affectionately known as “Bubba” to his family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be at a later date.
