George Brunelle of Brookfield, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 15th. He will once again embrace his only son Joey Brunelle who passed away in 1988. George was a proud husband, father and “Papa” and his memory will live on through his adoring family. He leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon (Liberty) Brunelle, his daughter Tammy Libuda and son-in-law Rich Setterlund of Sutton; and his daughter Missy Kennedy and son-in law Scott Kennedy of Thompson, CT. “Papa” will be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Jason Libuda of Worcester, Joshua Libuda of Oxford, and Taylor Kennedy of Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Sofie and Brady Libuda. George and his wife Sharon opened their home and their hearts to dozens of foster children over the years. They also sponsored families from Cambodia and Vietnam seeking refuge in America. George held a special place in his heart for the Chhoeuk family (among others). He was proud to guide them and watch them become happy and successful. One of 13 children, George leaves several brothers and sisters, Janice Dillon and Donna Lennon, both of Worcester, Paul Brunelle of Leominster, Robert Brunelle, Charles Brunelle, and Michael Brunelle, all of Largo, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents George and Luna (Spaulding) Brunelle; 3 brothers Rusty, Ritchie and Ronnie; and 3 sisters Fran Desmaris, Susie Murphy and Marie Pearson. George was a worker by nature and continued to work throughout his retirement. He enjoyed masonry, working in his yard and helping family with projects. He was an incredible, generous husband, father and grandfather who was very dedicated to his family. His smile brightened a room and “Papa” stories will carry on for years to come. A visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
