Subscription Update Obituary

     Fred E. Stout, 55, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, after a long period of failing health, surrounded by his family at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He leaves his parents, James E. and Gladys A. (Barbour) Stout of Oxford; a sister, Laurie M. Miller and her husband Tim of Rutland; three brothers, William M. Stout of Worcester, Glenn A. Stout and his wife Susan of Rutland, James N. Stout and his wife Linda of Winston, OR; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was born and raised in Worcester and attended Burncoat Senior High School before serving in the United States Navy. Fred worked many years as a painter in the construction industry. He was a member of Adams Square Baptist Church where he served the church doing repairs and maintenance.

His true passion was music, especially the blues. He will be remembered for being a gifted harmonica player. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, gardening and caring for his dogs, Ava, Sadie and Meg, his cat Sonny Jim, and spending time with his family and friends.

CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on SATURDAY, APRIL 9, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by a FUNERAL CEREMONY in Celebration of Fred’s Life at 7 p.m., in the funeral home. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
