Frank A. Kusy, 90, a longtime Auburn resident and proud U.S. Marine veteran passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 with loved ones gathered at his side.Frank was born in Worcester, one of eleven children of polish immigrants Stanley and Mary (Kurpa) Kusy; While attending High School, Frank, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II to serve his country. He continued serving in the Marine Corps during Korea before being discharged and returning home. Gifted in carpentry, Frank was always proud to acknowledge that he built his home in Auburn 48 years ago and working as a millwright for more than 30 years for EH Hines Inc before retiring.Frank is survived by the Love of his Life, for the past 53 years, Dolores (Santa Maria) Kusy; A women, Frank put concerns about him aside and focused on caring for her. Frank also leaves his six children; Debbie J. Ellrod of Flagler Beach, FL, Frank P. Kusy and his wife Darlene of Auburn, Stanley J. Kusy and his wife Maura of Marshfield, Brenda L. Monahan and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Melody A Hamilton of Webster and Randy F. Kusy of Auburn; two sisters, Mary Rutkiewicz and Helen Kulig both of Auburn; a brother, Chet Kusy in California; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends he loved. He was predeceased by, two grandchildren, John L Sullivan III, and Jenna Desrosiers, six brothers, Edward, Stanley, Chester, Emil, Richard, and Theodore Kusy, and a sister Ethel Sullivan all predeceased him.An individual with a big heart and huge circle of friends. Frank was a proud Marine and proud of his service to his country. He was an active member of the Marine Corps League in Worcester, lifetime member of the Auburn Sportsman Club and its Horseshoe league. He also enjoyed playing cribbage or horseshoes with friends wherever he could. Watching western movies, candlepins for bowling, and wheel of fortune with Dolores were always special moments. The greatest times in his life were those spent with family; having Dolores, his children and grandchildren around him whenever he could, including holidays, special occasions or family dinners, were always his greatest moments. In his youth Frank played the saxophone and clarinet and along with his siblings formed a band. On Sundays they performed under the Elm tree on the family farm where neighbors and the community enjoyed live performances.Due to the covid-19 outbreak, calling hours are family only with funeral services following on Friday, March 20th. The family invites and encourages those wishing to join the funeral procession beginning at 12:45 pm to Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, where he will be buried with U.S. Marine Corps Military Honors.
