Subscription Update Obituary

Francis R. Sestito, 82, of Worcester passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 28th, 2021.

Francis was born in Worcester, the son of Francis A. and Helen J. (Dziczek) Sestito. Raised in Worcester, he graduated from Millbury High school and began a lifelong career as a Corrugator machine operator for the Rand-Whitney Corporation, Key Container Corporation in Rhode Island, and Romanow Packaging in Littleton before retiring. On February 14th Valentine’s Day 1960, Francis married Barbara J. Gibree. They then began a life of family, devotion and dedication raising their family.

Francis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; two daughters, Donna M. Williamson, and Laurie J. West and her husband Dennis all of Worcester; four grandchildren he cherished, Anders, Christopher, and Kristin Williamson, and Joseph West; four great grandchildren; a sister Joan DiRoberto; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A grandson Nicholas West predeceased him.

Francis enjoyed Bowling for over 20 years, as a member of the Rand-Whitney Bowling League, fishing, travel especially family cruises in the Caribbean, and football, notably attending many Holy Cross games.

In Francis’s life, his family was his world, being with and around them during holidays, special occasions or attending their activities were the memories that will be remembered

A period of calling hours will be held Monday, January 3rd from 10 am to 12 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Flowers may be sent, or memorial remembrances made to the Parkinsons Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018
