Frances Rose Kewley, 90 a longtime resident of Holden passed away October 31st after a short illness. Born in Worcester, Frances was one of five children of Antonio Pavone and Camilla (Cappuccio) Pavone.
Frances was predeceased by her four brothers: Peter, Antonio, Frank and Michael. Frances was married to her beloved husband, Lawrence Kewley who passed away in 1988. She leaves her two children Joseph Kewley and his wife Barbara of Rutland, MA and Kittery, ME and her daughter Mary Snickars and her husband Floyd of Rutland, MA. She leaves three grandsons and a devoted granddaughter who spent time caring for her until the very end. Frances also leaves eight adoring great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and Goddaughters.
During her teenage years, while working at Woolworth’s, she met her lifelong best friend, Eileen Cofske. Frances graduated from Commerce High School in 1952 and went on to work at AT&T as an international telephone operator. During the summer months Frannie spent time in Maine enjoying the Sea Coast. Later in life after retiring, Frances volunteered tirelessly at the Salvation Army, enjoyed gardening in her beautiful perennial garden, as well as, taking care of her grandchildren.
A woman of faith and love, Frannie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-great who was loved by all that knew her.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care of her Nurse Practitioner Lenka Drahoradova and the skilled nursing staff at Rose Monahan who gave her comfort during her final days.
Calling hours will be held at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA on Saturday, November 16th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A memorial service will follow at 10 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton, MA.
