Florence (Plude) Wentworth, 79, of Worcester went home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn Barrett and George Plude. Her husband Edward Wentworth, Jr., died in 1999.
Florence leaves her children: Edward III and his wife Tina, Carl and his wife Kathleen, Mark and his wife Therese, Cheryl and Ronald, Donald, Lori Wentworth, eight grandchildren including Tammy and her husband Christopher Tebo, Tracy and her husband George Tomlin, Edward IV, Carl Jr., Mandy, Sarah and her husband Kevin O’Connell, Ronald and his wife Kerrie, Michael and his wife Kerri along with eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by her aunt and uncle Florence and Frank Wilson, a brother Raymond Barrett, a brother-in-law Lawrence Lavallee Sr., a sister-in-law Carolyn Snow, a brother and sister-in-law Roger and Glenda Snow and several cousins. Her many loving nieces and nephews include Donald Barrett and his wife Suzanne, Nancy Wentworth, Patricia Comeau, Lawrence Lavallee Jr., and Carl Wentworth. Florence is predeceased by her sister Janet Lavallee and her brother Victor Barrett.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paula Ravin at UMass-Memorial Medical Center for the compassionate care she provided to Florence for many years. They also want to thank the employees at Donna Kay Rest Home who lovingly cared for her during the years she resided there. The family extends its appreciation and gratitude to Joan Cusson, the staff at Holy Trinity Hospice and the employees at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care they provided to Florence.
A celebration of Florence’s life will be held on Saturday July 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave, Worcester, MA 01606 or to Hadwen Park Congregational Church Building Fund, 6 Clover St., Worcester, MA, 01603.
