Evelyn L. Bayrouty passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, at the UMass Medical Center Campus following a courageous nine-year battle with lung cancer.

She was surrounded by many loving family members in her final days. Evelyn is survived by her son, Bruce P. Bayrouty, and her cherished grandchildren: Chad Ren, Camron Bayrouty, Giuliana Bayrouty, and Maria Bayrouty. She also leaves behind her sisters, Deborah and Marva Bayrouty and Marva’s partner, Stuart Crocker. Evelyn was a beloved aunt to Hannah Mejaour and her partner Julia, as well as nephews Anthony and Nicholas Delianedis, Adam Mejaour and his partner Kristina, Noah Mejaour and his partner, Claire. Additionally, she will be missed by her 18-year-“young” cat, Winnie. Who according to the vets, has much more life in him!

Evelyn was preceded by her parents, Nancy A. (Prentice) Bayrouty and Philip F. Bayrouty, her sister Cathy Delianedis, and her brother-in-law and friend, Mohammed Mejaour. Born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, Evelyn had a deep love for her family. Finding joy in gardening, trips to the beach, and savoring Syrian food from Lee’s Bakery. Evelyn was commonly referred to as: “Mother Nature”. She also adored lilacs, her favorite flower. Evelyn faced many challenges throughout her life. Her resilience and hard work were a testament to her strength and determination. She was thoughtful, generous in her own unique way and truly amazing in her battle against illness. Evelyn is now at peace, reunited with her mother and all the family she loved who had passed beforehand.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours and the burial will be private.
