Eveline A. (Desroches) Robert, 88, of Leicester died Wednesday, July 22nd in the Christopher House.
Her husband, Roland E. Robert died in 1979. She leaves four sons, David A. Robert of St. Charles, MO, William R. Robert and his wife, Ruth of Leicester, James H Robert and his wife, Holly of Paxton and Thomas J. Robert and his wife, Anna of Charlton; three daughters, Joan M. Robert of Leicester, Anne T. Warren and her husband, Gary of Worcester and Annette L. Belanger and her husband, Fred of Leicester; four brothers, Gabriel Desroches of England, Eugene Desroches of Bellingham, Paul Desroches of CT, and Robert Desroches of FL; a sister, Claire Wirf of Brookfield; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Robert who died in 1992 and 10 brothers and sisters
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Alphonse J. and Fernande (Prefontaine) Desroches. Eveline was a sales associate for Prime Value Mart and Lerner’s Shops. She was a member of St. Pius X Church. Mrs. Robert was active with the Leicester Housing Authority leading bingo, the crafty granny’s and the annual yard sale.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of the Putnam Unit at the Christopher House and the nurses with Notre Dame Hospice for the compassion, care and support during Eveline’s illness.
Her funeral is Monday, July 27th with a Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held privately for the family at Eveline’s request. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605, or to Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605 or to a charity of the donor’s choice .
