Subscription Update Obituary

     Ernest DeLibertis, 82, of Worcester, Ma passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Rose Monahan Hospice Home on October 29, 2018.

Ernie was known by all as a soft-spoken, kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ernie leaves behind his two daughters, Karen E. DeLibertis and Linda M. DeLibertis-Hatch; his former spouse, Sandra M. Cronin; two granddaughters to whom he was lovingly known as “Grampa Doodle,” Tomeca L. Murphy and Breana L. Hatch; two great-grandchildren Finley and Quinn Murphy; nieces and nephews; many close family members, and his two dearest friends, Gordon and Sona Hargrove.

Ernie was born in Fitchburg on December 3, 1935. He was the son of Manfred and Rena (Marion) DeLibertis. He is predeceased by his brothers; Manfred, Ronald, and Robert DeLibertis. Ernie graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1953, going on to join the U.S. Naval Air Force and was a proud veteran of the Korean War.

Ernie was a maintenance technician for Servomation International from 1959-1996. Upon retiring in 1996, Ernie enjoyed traveling all over the world, working closely with senior advocacy groups of Worcester, and spending time with close friends and family. He enjoyed painting, writing poetry, all kinds of music, and going to the movies.

Ernie’s calling hours will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 from 4-7pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester Ma 01605. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Patrick Church 258 Main St. Rutland Ma 01543. Burial with military honors will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donation in Ernie’s memory to Rose Monahan Hospice Home of Worcester 10 Judith St. Worcester, Ma 01602
