Ellanora Jenni Mitchell, of South Grafton, a bright and happy three-year-old little girl, became and angel on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mass General Hospital in Boston, following complications from surgery, and is reunited in Heaven with her paternal grandfather, Richard J. Mitchell, Jr. and her namesake aunt, Jenni Tucci.

Ellanora is survived by her parents, David M. and Amanda M. (Shields) Mitchell; her big brother, Mason R. Mitchell, all of South Grafton; her maternal grandparents, Kevin and Rebecca (Dresser) Shields of Uxbridge; her paternal grandmother, Judy (Stevens) Mitchell of Worcester; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ellanora was attending pre-school at South Grafton Elementary School, where she enjoyed interacting with her teachers and friends. When not in school, Ellanora enjoyed wrestling and playing with her brother, Mason, enjoying the breeze outside, using her tablet, watching the news, and reading books. She was happiest surrounded by the love of her family, especially visiting Old Orchard Beach and a recent family trip to Disney.

Ellanora had a bright, beautiful smile that lit up a room and caused people to gravitate toward her innocent love and laughter.

Her family would like to thank the many people that cared for her and enriched her life with their compassion and kindness, her in-home nursing team, the doctors, nurses and support staff at Mass General and Mass Eye and Ear. A special thank you to “Make-A-Wish” of Massachusetts and Rhode Island for granting a recent family trip to Disney, where Ellanora could be a little princess and enjoy the magic that surrounds her.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Ellanora’s family to celebrate and remember her life at Calling Hours on Sunday, July 7, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 3 p.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a Go Fund Me account set up in her name, by visiting www.gofundme.com and then search for her name “EllanoraMitchell”.
