Subscription Update Obituary

     Elizabeth A. (Looney) Houlihan, 86, of Worcester, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at her home.

Her husband of 49 years, Eugene F. Houlihan, died in 2008.

She leaves a nephew, William P. Looney and his wife Andrea of Conn., a niece Sally Bogert, her husband Wayne and their son Michael of Hackettstown, NJ; a niece, Jane Craft and her daughters Emily and Molly of Upton, Mass. and cousins, Paul M. Gilrein and Denise M. Carraher of Worcester. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, William and Anne Looney.

Mrs. Houlihan was born in Worcester, daughter of William and Ellen (Purcell) Looney.

She had a long career as a dental assistant for Dr. Donald Abbey.

Mrs. Houlihan enjoyed traveling extensively across the United States and Western Europe. She also loved to vacation with friends on Nantucket. She was also an avid gardener.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Sunday, July 9, from 4 to 6 p.m.

The funeral will be held on Monday, July 10, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
