Elizabeth A. Gildert, 76, of 32 Shore drive died Sunday, July 20 in her home surrounded by her family after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 57 years, Albert F. Gildert, a daughter Catherine J. Holmes and her husband William of Barre, a son W. Dean Gildert and his wife Darlene of New Braintree, three brothers Walter Marszalek and his wife Judy of Okeechobee, FL, Chester Mitchell and his wife Janice of Ware and John Mitchell and his wife Bernadette of Spencer, two grandchildren Lindsey O’Donoghue and her husband Drew of Eliot, ME and Chad Holmes of Barre and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was born in Worcester, daughter of Walter and Catherine M. (Niewira) Mitchell. She graduated from David Prouty High School. She worked in the custodial dept. at Anna Maria College in Paxton and also at Assumption College in Worcester retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Columba’s Church in Paxton.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 10:00 AM in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Reliant Medical Group Foundation Oncology Fund, 100 Front St., 6th floor, Worcester, MA 01608. www.reliantfoundation.org. J.
