Edward J. Coffey Sr. of Worcester died after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Juliette C. (Fortin), a son Edward J. Coffey stationed with the US Army in Germany, and three daughters; Barbara A. Silva of Worcester, Patricia L. Magliaro of Leicester and Kathleen M. Coffey of Worcester. He also leaves brothers William E. and James Coffey of Worcester and sisters Catherine and Margaret Coffey of Worcester, nine grandchildren and a niece and nephews.
Edward was born February 4, 1901 in Worcester, son of William E. and Abigail (Kennedy) Coffey. He was a veteran of World War I and World War II, serving in the United States Navy and Merchant Marines. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans. He also worked on the Worcester Fire Department before he retired after many years of service.
