Edith R. (Dell’Olio) Pedone, 98, of Worcester, MA passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022. Edith was the beloved wife of the late Bartolomeo J. Pedone; the loving mother of Carol Pedone Needham, Vincent A. Pedone and his wife Yezhan, all of Worcester; and the cherished grandmother of LCpl Ethan A. Pedone, USMC, and Alexander Z. Pedone, the grandsons she adored.

Raised in Brooklyn, Edith was the youngest of seven children of Mauro and Grace Dell’Olio. She came to Worcester in 1942 after marrying her husband to raise her family. Edith worked for the Worcester School Department at Adams Street School and Harrington Way Jr. High School for many years before retiring in 1980. Edith loved to travel and embraced all those she met. She loved her card games and was an avid poker player. She adored her family and was happiest when everyone was together. She loved to sing and always had a song in her heart and a smile on her face.

The family would like to thank the staff and employees of Shrewsbury Nursing Home and the Sisters of Notre Dame Hospice for their compassion, love and care while Edith was a resident.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, October 7 from 10:00 – 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. A funeral service will follow the visiting hour at 11:00 in the funeral home, with interment concluding the services in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
