Subscription Update Obituary

     Edith A. (Green) Kilbourne, 90, of Worcester died Tuesday, September 30th in UMass Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Elliott G. Kilbourne; her daughter, Carla L. Kilbourne as well as her longtime companion Pasquale Pascucci. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia McInnes and her husband, Donald of Barre, and Jan Leary and her husband, Denis of Shrewsbury; 5 grandchildren, Keith McInnes, Beth Paul, Dawn McInnes-Parks, Danielle Leary and Kelly Leary; 6 great grandchildren, Brianna, Emily, Sam, Madison, Alec, and Summer and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Millicent, Inez and Ida.

She was born in Stow the daughter of Everett and Gladys (Edwards) Green and lived in Worcester most of her life. Edith graduated from the former High School of Commerce and the former Worcester School of Business Science. Edie lived life to the fullest and held most dear the love of family and friends. In the aftermath of World War II, Edie was an active volunteer in our countries “Welcome Home” efforts as a singer entertaining the troops who were re-integrated through Fort Devens.

A service will be held on Friday, October 10th at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605 in memory of Edith’s husband, Elliot Kilbourne who was a decorated World War II hero.
