Subscription Update Obituary

     Dorothy L. (Allen) Parker, 95, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Clinton Hospital after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur F. and Marion (Hayward) Allen and had lived most of her life in West Boylston.

Her loving husband of 46 years, Stanley L. Parker, passed away in 1985. She leaves three sons, Robert A. Parker and his wife, Carolyn of Richmond, VA, Kenneth C. Parker and his wife, Rose and Gary L. Parker his wife, Robin, all of West Boylston; a daughter, Patricia A. Melendy and her husband, Normand of West Boylston; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. She was predeceased by a son, C. Donald Parker, three brothers, George, Walter and William Allen and two sisters, Millie Peterson and Priscilla Allen.

She graduated from West Boylston High School and went to work for several area companies including, IGA, George Meyer Company and Pinecroft Dairy. She was a member of the Liberty Church in Shrewsbury. She was devoted and loved to spend time with her large extended family and enjoyed knitting and cooking.

Mrs. Parker’s family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff of Clinton Hospital. It was greatly appreciated.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parker at the funeral home are private followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Development Office, Clinton Hospital, 201 Highland Street, Clinton, MA 10510. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
