Subscription Update Obituary

Dorothy F. (Ziemlak) Russell, age 83, passed away at home in Paxton on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Born in Adams, she was the daughter of the late Blazej and Stefania (Sobon) Ziemlak.

Dorothy graduated from Adams High School and went on to work as a bank teller for many years at Berkshire’s Bank in Adams before working at People’s Bank in Worcester. In her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant at Caravan Coffee.

She lived in Adams for over 20 years with her husband, Robert M. Russell before residing in Paxton for the rest of her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, reading, the many trips to Sebago and Squam Lakes, and of course, her chocolate and fudge. She was also a longtime member of St. Columba Parish in Paxton.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert M. Russell; a daughter, Colleen Ahearn and her husband, George, Jr. of Spencer; four grandchildren, Ashley LaCasse and her husband, Joshua of West Brookfield, Johnathon Ahearn of Spencer, Morgan Ahearn of Southbridge, Rose Ahearn of Spencer; two great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Scarlett; and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Edward Ziemlak and her sister, Florence Shea.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday, July 15th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.
