Subscription Update Obituary

    Dorothy F. (George) Gleason, 67, of Leicester, died Monday, June 28th in her home.

    She leaves her husband of 47 years, Donald R. Gleason; two sons, John M. Gleason and his wife Deborah and Ronald F. Gleason and his wife Danielle all of Auburn; two daughters, Kathleen M. Levasseur and her husband Jeffrey of Leicester and Nancy Klein and her husband Michael of MA; a brother, Thomas F. George of Auburn; two sisters, Mary L. George of Worcester and Lorraine Castell and her husband Herb of FL; eight grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Arline Gleason and Florence Morang.

    She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas C. and Laura L. (Beauchemin) George and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. Gleason was a front desk clerk at Comfort Inn in Auburn, retiring in 2008 and had previously worked at Zayre’s and Marshalls. Dorothy was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Worcester, and was the soloist there for many years. She enjoyed singing, playing bingo, going to Foxwoods and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. Dorothy touched a lot of people during her life.

    The funeral is Wednesday, July 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 6th in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
