Doris R. (Bellefleur) Curboy, 86, of Auburn, died peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family. She now spends an eternity in heaven with her Friend and Savior, something she eagerly awaited even while enjoying life to the fullest.

She leaves her devoted husband, Richard A. Curboy of Auburn; her son, Peter Roberts and his wife Cindy of Charlton; her two grandchildren, Courtney Roberts and her fiancé Matthew Hartl of Norwalk, CT and Jonathan Roberts of Charlton; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews in Michigan. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Gertrude (Authier) Bellefleur and has lived in Auburn for many years.

Mrs. Curboy began working with Rice Barton as a secretary, where she met her husband Richard. She later worked for Commerce Bank and Shipman Dental Laboratories. She spent many years as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Doris had the gift of a beautiful voice, and she loved to sing. In her early years, she sang professionally with groups from the Big Band era, including Tommy Dorcy and later for many years with The Joyful Sounds. She was a devoted Christian and loved to share her strong faith with everyone she met. As an active member of Holden Chapel and more recently Liberty Church of Shrewsbury, Doris loved to sing and listen to praise and worship music. Her unshakeable faith was an inspiration to the countless lives she touched over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Doris’ family for a memorial celebration of her life on Saturday, September 3rd at 10:00 AM at Liberty Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike (Route 20), Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
