Donald T. Williams, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015 in Rose Monahan Hospice.
He leaves his wife of 24 years Sandra (Beaupre) Williams; brothers Harold (Donna) of Worcester, MA and Ralph (Jackie) of Ladera Ranch, CA; sisters: Charlotte Murdock, Mary Mangsen and Rita Remillard; sister-in-law Rose Williams all of of Worcester; children: Victoria (Edward) Wilkins of Orange ; Michael (Lauri) Williams of Brookfield, Mary-Anne Cobill of East Brookfield , Joseph Williams (friend Sherri ) of Spencer; grandchildren Frances Wilkins, Edward (Charleen) Wilkins, III., Thomas Williams & his fiance Colleen, Elizabeth Williams, Pamela (Jeremy) Curboy, Melissa (Jesse) Recore; Peter Myers, Jessica (Nathan) Kidd, Angela (Aaron) Stachowiak, Thea (Anthony) Gonci, Erin Williams and friend Dan, Megan Williams (friend Ande) , Richard Williams and Nichole McHugh; great-grandchildren Zoe, Ashley, Dominic, Cameron, Samuel, Graydon, Gabriel, Lily, Juni, Ashlyn, Tony and Bryden; several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers Vincent, Kenneth and Roger; sister Pauline Mitchell; brothers-in-law Robert Remillard, Harry Mitchell, Richard Murdock and Everett Mangsen; sisters-in-law Barbara Williams and Margaret Williams and his first wife Rita Williams.
Donald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He worked at Norton Co. 1964 – 1987 and later Holy Cross College until he retired in 2000.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in North Brookfield, the American Legion Post in Auburn and he was a volunteer for the American Association of the Blind through the Elks Club of Worcester. After retirement from Holy Cross College, he and Sandra traveled extensively throughout the United States in their motor home. They spent eight years in Vermont as full-time caregivers for Sandra’s mother.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, August 20,2015 from 4-7PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., N. Brookfield . The funeral will be held on Friday with a Mass at 11:00AM in St.Josephs Church, 296 Main St., N. Brookfield. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donald’s memory to the North Brookfield Rescue Squad, PO Box 73, North Brookfield, MA 01535 or the VNA Care Network & Hospice, Development Office, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608-1223.
