Subscription Update Obituary

Donald B. Auger, 70, died after a prolonged illness on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife, Donna P. Zanauskas of Oxford; his sister, Roxanne Auger of Sturbridge; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Catlow. He was born in Northbridge, son of the late Hector B. and Cecilia C. (Hisoire) Auger, and lived in Grafton before moving to Oxford in 1989. He graduated from Blackstone Valley Tech in Upton in 1970.

Mr. Auger worked for John Klein’s Repair Service and Heritage Welding, before opening his own welding business, FAB N’ DESIGN in Oxford. He enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, especially spending time at Race Point and at the National Seashore. He loved lobstering and fishing in the ocean on his boat for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
