Dennis L. Lindblom, 74 of Rochester, NH., formerly of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving wife, three children and their spouses, on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH.
Dennis was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, a son of the late Cecil M. and Mildred V. (Peterson) Lindblom. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School, Class of 1964. Dennis earned his bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst. He later earned his master’s degree from Assumption College. Dennis dutifully served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was the proud recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Dennis found great purpose for a majority of his career working with students and colleagues at Worcester State University from 1980-2009 in various positions, most of which was as the Director of Disability Services until his well earned retirement.
Dennis is survived by his beloved “bride” of nearly 50 years, Eugenie E. (Abisamra) Lindblom; his son, Michael Lindblom and his wife Megan of Northborough, MA; two daughters, Erica Hardy and her husband Warren of Barrington, NH and Jessica Maravich and her husband John of Dover, NH; two brothers, David Lindblom, and his wife Sue of Bourne, MA and Duane Lindblom and his wife Carol of Tuftonboro, NH; his sister, Darlene Ballan and her husband David of Sturbridge, MA; eleven grandchildren, Kaelyn, Madelyn and Matthew Hardy, Joshua, Samuel and Emma Maravich, and Makenna, Mia, Hudson, Hannah and Raegan Lindblom; many nieces and nephews.
Dennis’s faith was the foundation of his life. He loved Jesus with all his heart and that was so evident in the way he lived and loved others. Dennis faithfully and selflessly served the church, his community and family. He was incomparable in his devotion, compassion, generosity, fun, love and thoughtfulness in his many roles, especially as a husband, father and grandfather. “Boppy,” as he was called within the family, was always ready to listen, play, snuggle, support and pray. We adored him and his loving nature and gentle spirit. Dennis’s presence will be unimaginably missed, however his legacy of faith and family will be carried on. As much as he found great joy with his gang of 19, it all began with the unwavering love and devotion to his beautiful (as he reminded her on a daily basis) wife. They were inseparable in their life together and all that they enjoyed – biking, walking, bowling, board/yard games, movies and gardening. He was a model of how to live life to the fullest, love unconditionally and make the most of each day. Dennis was full of purpose, fun and adventure from a young age right up until he was called home to his life in Glory.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Monday June 28, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am at Heritage Bible Chapel in Princeton, MA.
