Dan Stone, 86 of Worcester passed away on Saturday December 15th in his home from a long battle with cancer. He leaves his 3 daughters, Linda Trefethen (Paul) of Loudon, NH, Donna Pelligrini (Mike) of Rutland MA, Patrica Stone – Neitz of Worcester; his son Donald Stone and his wife Helen of Sparta, TN; brothers Beckley and Owen of CT and many nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Mitchell Stone; Son in Law Steven Neitz; and brothers Arland, Gordon, Hugh, Dean, Mason, Warner, and 1 sister Vanessa Shufelt. Grandchildren Eric Stone of Toronto CAN, Michael Trefethen Concord NH, Michelle Trefethen Scarborough Me, Great Grandchildren Michaela Trefethen-Hoover(Thomas) Burkeville, VA, Madison Trefethen Franklin, NH, Alexis Trefethen Hampton NH, Collin Trefethen Rochester, NH.

He was born in Glover VT, the son Elwin and Alice (Drew) Stone. He served in the United States Army in the 28th infantry division in Germany.

He was a life long Trucker with the New England Teamsters and Trucking Industry, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed spending time in Vermont with family and friends, especially at his summer home, located in Glover. He also enjoyed spending time with dogs, especially Liebe, his daughters dog.

A private service and burial was held at Worcester Memorial Park in Paxton MA, on December 19th. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
