Daniel J. Jakaitis, 87, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at UMass Hospital, with loving family at his bedside.

Daniel is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-two years, MaryAnn (Generelli) Jakaitis; a daughter, Joanne Troiano and her husband Mark of Holden; a son, Daniel A. Jakaitis and his wife Debra of Worcester; three grandchildren, Daniel Jakaitis, II, John Jakaitis, and Mark Troiano; twin great granddaughters, Lillian and Arianna Jakaitis; nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his sister, Julie Turo. Daniel was born in Worcester, son of the late, Anthony and Marcella Jakaitis, and has lived here all his life. He served in the United States Army toward the end of the Korean Conflict.

Daniel had the gift of being able to talk to anyone, this gift served him well as a successful salesman throughout his career. He retired in 2000 from Keystone Electric Supply, where he made many friends. Daniel was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, American Legion Post 462, Brown Square Civic Club, and he enjoyed golfing at Wachusett Country Club. He was a proud fan of New England sports teams, especially the Bruins and Patriots.

Daniel was a dedicated family man who was happiest at home with his wife and soul mate. He enjoyed caring for their home and having everyone over for Sunday Dinner or gathering at the pool during the summer months. His children and grandchildren were the source of much pride.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at UMass ICU department and special thanks to his nurse Kristen. Daniel’s family would also like to acknowledge and thank his Cardiologist, Dr. Hadley for her love and support through the years.
