Daniel D. Barna, 63, passed away at Saint Vincent Hospital on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, due to an illness.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Michael P. and Kathleen P. (Murphy) Barna.

Danny leaves behind his two sisters Mary I. Brosnahan of Worcester, and Rose Carr and her husband William of Millbury; a brother Joseph P. Barna and his wife Vicki of Oxford; and several nephews, nieces and cousins, especially his no. 1 cousin Linda MacLellan who would visit and call Danny all the time. She was always there for him. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael P. and John E. Barna, and his brother-in-law Ralph J. Brosnahan.

Danny attended the Mercy Centre and South High School. He lived in a Seven Hills group home and participated in their work programs. He always worked hard.

He loved all of the staff that took care of him from Seven Hills, whose names are too numerous to mention. His family appreciated and thank them for his great care.

Danny enjoyed music, reading and socializing. He loved being with people, and his favorite expression for friends was “Be nice.”

His family would like to thank the staff in the Primary Care Unit at Saint Vincent Hospital, who took great care of him.

Calling hours are Sunday, July 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Monday, July 26, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester.
