Subscription Update Obituary

     Charlotte C. (Thoren) Lindberg, 86, died at home on Monday, October 21, 2013 after an illness. She was born in Orange, the daughter of Gunnar N. and Alfina C. (Ferrari) Thoren and had lived in Holden for 57 years.

     She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley R. Lindberg; three sons, Steven R. Lindberg and his wife Maribeth of Carlisle, PA, Jeffrey C. Lindberg and his wife Kathleen of Merrimack, NH and David G. Lindberg and his wife Dorothy of Holden; two daughters, Susan E. Haley and her husband John of Holliston and Karin M. Finnegan and her husband William of Holden; a sister, Gloria Lawson of Orange; seventeen grandchildren, Eric, Marc, Paul and Christine Lindberg, Megan, Benjamin and his wife Kimberly and Emily Lindberg, Patrick and Daniel Haley, Timothy, Robert and Michael Finnegan and Colleen, Brian, Katherine, Joseph and Thomas Lindberg; two nephews, Peter Lawson and James Lindberg and his wife Betty; and two nieces, Diana MacKinnon and her husband Sandy and Kristina Inforati and her husband Frank. She was predeceased by her step-mother, Bessie (Shepardson) Thoren.

     Charlotte graduated from City Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester and worked briefly at City Hospital as a registered nurse. She then worked for Alden Research Laboratories in Holden for 17 years. She was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden for 50 years, where she taught Sunday school. Charlotte was a den mother with the Cub Scouts, volunteered at the Corner Shop at the First Congregational Church of Holden and was a member of the PTA at Rice School in Holden.

     A private graveside service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
