     Charles Kady Sr. 93 of West Brookfield, a decorated WWII Army Veteran of the Battle of the Bulge serving under General George Patton was awarded The Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient died Monday March 5th at St. Vincent Hospital Worcester after a brief illness. Born in Methuen he was the son of the late Shaker and Jamilee (Saffe) Kady. Charles was the husband of the late Eleanor M (Hashway) Kady who died in 2000. He leaves his wife Jocelyn (Berard) Wile. Charles is predeceased by his daughter Linda Lee in 2010 and his son Randal in 2006. He leaves 2 sons Charles Jr. and his wife Amy, and Gary Kady, and his wife Sandy who pre-deceased him in 2017. 3 daughters, Charlotte Pine and her husband Lee, Cynthia and her husband John Whalen and Janice and her husband Ted O’Neill. He also leaves a sister Nellie Marinaro, 16 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by 5 siblings. Charles was well known as a builder. He established the well-known Kady Builders which he founded in 1945. Charles has raised up in his business several generations of builders in the family that continue the trade today. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Norwood and a former member of 1st Congregational Church in Spencer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Pillsbury Funeral Home 3 West Brookfield Rd Brookfield, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours will be Saturday at 9am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local charity in honor of Charles.
