Charles J. “Chuck” Manero, 70, a longtime Holden resident and a second-generation business owner, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, with the family he loved gathered at his bedside after a long illness. Charles is welcomed into heaven by his father Angelo, brother Robert and his mother Lena Manero who passed away June 29th.

Charles was born in Worcester, his parents were the late, Angelo J. and Lena M. (Carrelli) Manero. Raised in Worcester, Chuck graduated from Doherty High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He then joined the family business his dad started, Manero Insurance, guided and nurtured it until retiring and passing the company on to the third generation, his son Nicholas who carries it on today.

Charles is survived by his wife Diane C. (Belanger) Manero; a son, Nicholas C. Manero of Holden; two stepchildren, Connor E. Joyce in San Diego and Kellen F. Joyce of Worcester; two sisters, Donna L. Gothelf of San Francisco and Susan Manero of Princeton; Nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Charles was given the gift of song, he was an enthusiastic member, former Vice President and board of director of the Salisbury Singers. A parishioner, and choir member of St Francis Episcopal Church and a member of the Bishop’s Council of the Western Diocese of Episcopal churches. He was a perfectionist, whether working with a client, tending his yard, or guiding his family, he was always concerned for their care. His yard was pristine, all the time. Charles also loved the Cape, notably Nauset beach, special occasions, the holidays, and anytime he could be with his family.

Callings hours will be held Monday, October 24th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Tuesday, October 25th at 11 am in St Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland St. Holden.
