Cecile Jeanette (Frechette) Mason, 79, wife of the late Chester “Buddy” R. Mason, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Corcoran House in Clinton surrounded by love. Born and raised in Fitchburg, Cecile was a daughter of Adrian and Elodie (McPhee) Frechette and lived more than 54 years in Sterling.
She will be remembered by her son, Chester “Chuck” Mason of Lancaster and his companion, Malika Hill; three daughters, Pamela Mason and her companion, Joey Smiley of Kingman, AZ, Bonnie Stevens and her husband, Douglas of Plattsburgh, New York, and Amy Pineo and her husband, Michael of Sterling; two sisters, Adrienne Renaud and Rosemarie Frechette; two brothers, Henry and Charlie Frechette; seven grandchildren, Karen Ricardi, Nicholas Ricardi and his wife, Kristin, Theresa Papciak and her husband, Chris, Joshua Pineo and Allison Pineo, Neil Stevens and Buffy Duncan; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Olivia, Freya Papciak , Brianna Bombard, Taylor Stevens, Douglas Duncan and Ryan Ricardi; many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester “Buddy” R. Mason, her daughter, Lori Ann Amons and four brothers, Ernest, Raymond, Francis and Lawrence Frechette.
Cecile was a 1956 graduate of Fitchburg High School. She met and married the love of her life, “Buddy” and spent the next 54 years by his side. Among her greatest joys was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Besides raising five children she had several other occupations including making apple pies for Meadowbrook Orchards in Sterling, managing the Hebert Candy Store in Sterling, working the deli at Price Chopper in West Boylston and lending a helping hand to whoever needed it.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Richards of Chichester in Sterling and a member of the Women’s Guild.
Cecile’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Corcoran House, Worcester Home Care and Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Cecile’s family from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, at the Miles~ Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 18 at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Interment at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard of Chichester Church, Memorial Tree of Life, P.O. Box 657, Sterling, MA 01564.
