Carol A. (Petterson) Rahaim, 82, died peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Blaire House in Worcester.

Carol was born in Holden, the daughter of Harold and Mildred (Pearson) Petterson. She lived most of her life in Holden, having moved to St. Petersburg, Florida for several years before returning to Holden.

Carol pursued a career in healthcare, first as a phlebotomist and then working for years as an office manager in a dental practice. Carol spent much of her time cooking and baking, always willing to share her food and recipes. Her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.

Carol will be lovingly missed and remembered by her sons, Eric C. Gunnard and his wife Nancy of Rutland, and Mark R. Gunnard of St. Petersburg, Florida; her stepson, Christopher J. Rahaim of Florida; her cherished grandchildren, including Annika, Collin and Evan Gunnard, and Hanna Antchoutine; her great-granddaughter, Iris Antchoutine; her sister, Donna Petterson; her brother, Allan H. Petterson; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 32 years, James. J. Rahaim in 2008, and by her stepson, Michael J. Rahaim.

Family and friends will gather to honor Carol’s memory at Calling Hours on Friday, September 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private.
