Carlene was born in Worcester and moved to Rutland in the sixties. She was a graduate of South High School class of 1952 where she participated in basketball and field hockey. She was also employed at State Mutual.
Carlene was an accomplished homemaker. An avid crafter and seamstress she fashioned many outfits through the years. She enjoyed gardening fruits and vegetables, then creating many preserves, jellies, and relishes. She was well known to family and friends for her homemade baked beans. Along with her husband Bill, Carlene traveled extensively. From Alaska to Hawaii. Canada, Rome, Ireland, and the Holy Lands they had many excursions together.
Carlene was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland. She helped form the bereavement committee there and served many years as co-captain.
Carlene leaves behind her loving husband of 67 years, William Walker of Rutland. Her son Willy and his wife Jineen of Rutland. Her daughter Kathy and husband Paul of Rutland, and son Bob and wife Lisa of Worcester. She leaves her beloved grandchildren Tricia Walker Andriski, Bobby, Jarred, and Nick Walker and Kevin Connors, along with great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Carlene leaves her sister Marion Fulginiti of California and her brother Donald of Brookfield. She was pre-deceased by her parents Alfred and Florence Montville and her brother Clarence Montville.
Carlene loved her family and always enjoyed gatherings with loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursday, January 20, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. Holden, with a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main St, Rutland. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton.
